Winter in Bryce

Do you ever wonder if the Evergreen envies it's showy neighbors in the Autumn?

Each Autumn the Birch and Maple and Elm trees are allowed to don their most colorful clothes, a riot of russets and crimsons and golds. Such gaiety and flash is not the lot of the Evergreen. The Evergreen must persist through the Autumn in the same clothes she has worn all year.

Ah, but wind and snow settle on the land, then it becomes the duty of the Evergreen to serve as a reminder to all, as she wears her green needles like a cloak of courage, that we must not be downhearted. The green reminds us that spring and summer shall return.
